The documentary "Far Out: Life On & After the Commune" screens Friday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. at Peterborough Community Theater, 6 School St., Peterborough.
Director Charles Light will join a discussion following the 85-minute film with Packer Corners farm member VerandahPorche and composer Patty Carpenter.
The film tells the story of two New England communes founded by radical journalists in 1968, blending archival footage and interviews to highlight the communes' role in the back-to-the-land and anti-nuclear movements. "Far Out" won “Best New England Feature” at the Newburyport Film Festival, with recent showings at the Monadnock and Vermont film festivals.
