The Francestown Elementary School basketball program, sponsored by the Francestown Recreation Commission, had 18 participants and recently concluded.

Students in kindergarten through second grade learned basic skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting, while third- and fourth-graders started to learn some basic plays.

All players demonstrated their skills in front of their friends and families on the final night of practice. The students in kindergarten through second grade demonstrated their skills by performing bounce pass and chest pass drills,  dribbling through a series of cones and shooting free throws at baskets of appropriate height. Third- and fourth-graders showed off their skills by playing a series of games.

The Recreation Commission honored their achievements with an awards ceremony topped off with a pizza party.
