Jennifer Militello to speak for Monadnock Writers’ Group

Jennifer Militello, New Hampshire’s poet laureate, will speak at the Monadnock Writers’ Group’s monthly speaker series on Saturday, April 19, at 9:45 a.m. at Peterborough Town Library, 2 Concord St. The event is free and open to the public.

Militello, who began her five-year term in April, is the author of six books, including "A Camouflage of Specimens and Garments," "Body Thesaurus" and "Knock Wood: A Memoir in Essays." Her work has appeared in publications such as The Nation, The New Republic and POETRY. She teaches in the MFA program at New England College.

The Monadnock Writers’ Group, founded in 1984, supports local writers through meetings, contests and publications including "Smoky Quartz," an online journal.
