Letter: Vote for Howard Ray

I am writing this letter in support of Howard Ray not only as a casual observer, but also as someone experienced in town government.

I am a current Budget Committee member, former School Budget Committee member and selectman. Howard is currently serving on the ZBA, he is the track coach at WLC and is raising five boys here in our little slice of paradise we call Lyndeborough. Howard is aware of the issues going on and what is important with property rights and the preservation of this wonderful town we live in.

We have been witnessing the town heading down a path of over-regulation, code enforcement and micromanagement of town departments. There were no issues that required this, just folks feeling the need to force their personal opinions of how the town should run onto all of the residents, driving up the costs of home ownership and taxes.

This election is a very important one, and we need you to come out and vote to put a stop to all of this nonsense. One example of taking rights from voters and giving it to the selectman is Article 2. Article 2 says replace the term “Zoning Board of Adjustment” with “Planning Board.” The Planning Board is a board appointed by the selectman, and the Zoning Board is an elected board voted on by the residents of the town. Keep the power in the hands of the voters. Vote for Howard Ray and vote no on Articles 2 through 9.
