Letter: Campaign signs have gone negative

You can tell it is election season again by the number of candidate signs in yards and by the sides of the road.

I have gotten used to signs for Candidate X being there one day, and oops, it has disappeared or been replaced by a sign for Candidate Y.  What is new to me this year is the appearance of negative signs – signs that demean the character of an opposing candidate from the one being supported by a particular organization. Since I don't watch television, I am thankfully not exposed to negative TV ads, and until now, also not exposed to negative yard signs.  Sadly, that has come to an end.

The New Hampshire State Republican Committee has produced, and I assume placed, negative campaign signs in our region.  So instead of visitors coming to New Hampshire to view our fall colors, they can now come and be exposed to our negative campaign tactics. Thank you, New Hampshire State Republican Committee, for bringing down the civility of roadside and yard campaign signs.
