On Saturday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m., Rindge Historical Society continues its 2024 season of Music at the Museum.

The September open mic features singer-songwriter Mark Frederick Fisher.  The event will be held outdoors at the Rindge Historical Society, 24 School Street. A $5 donation at the door benefits the Historical Society’s museum. Desserts, light lunch refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. No reservations are required. Everyone is welcome.

Fisher is part storyteller and part singer-songwriter mixed with acoustic guitar playing. He delivers a blend of Celtic, New Age and folk styles. He resides in North Ashburnham, Mass., with his wife Nancy.

Ray Siekierski coordinates and hosts the monthly open mic. He is assisted by sound technician Mark Cantrill. Karla MacLeod, president of the Rindge Historical Society, manages the refreshments and location. Anyone interested in performing during the open mic portion of the event should email Siekierski at nooniekirk52@gmail.com. Musicians, poets and spoken word artists are encouraged to perform.

For more than a decade, Music at the Museum has been a forum bringing people in the community together to hear the musical talent residing in the Monadnock region. It is held on the last Saturday of the month through October at either the Rindge Meeting House or outdoors at the Rindge Historical Society.  When outdoors, attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

The 2024 season ends Oct. 26 with a performance by Garrels and Anderson. October’s open mic will return to the Meeting House.
