On Saturday, May 25, 1 p.m., Rindge Historical Society continues its 2024 season of Music at the Museum with Tom Ahlborn-Hsu and Laurie Shapiro performing original songs and audience favorites backed by guitar.  . 

The event will be the first of the season held outdoors at the Rindge Historical Society, 24 School St. A $5 donation at the door benefits the Historical Society’s museum. Desserts, light lunch refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. No reservations are required. Everyone is welcome

The history of Rindge’s open mic goes back to 2012 when Karla MacLeod and David Lister partnered on The Meeting House Stage. In 2022, Ray Siekierski took the lead as emcee and the event, renamed Music at the Museum, moved from Friday nights to Saturday afternoons.

Siekierski coordinates and hosts the monthly open mic. He is assisted by sound technician Mark Cantrill. Anyone interested in performing during the open mic portion of the event should email Siekierski at nooniekirk52@gmail.com. Musicians, poets, and spoken-word artists are encouraged to perform.

Music at the Museum is a monthly event held on the last Saturday of the month, March through October, at either the Rindge Meeting House or outdoors at the Rindge Historical Society depending on weather. Each month includes a featured musical performance. 

Future Music at the Museum dates are June 29 with Jerry Wile, July 27 with Tom Smith, Sept. 28 with Mark Frederick Fisher and the final 2024 season event on Oct. 26 with a performance by Garrels and Anderson. Weather permitting, performances through September will be outdoors.
