Norway Pond Festival Singers begin rehearsals Sept. 26

Music on Norway Pond’s women’s chorus, the Norway Pond Festival Singers, will begin rehearsing Sept. 26.

Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. in the Hancock Meetinghouse, which is the lower floor of the First Congregational Church in Hancock on Main Street. The annual holiday concert on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m.

This year, the chorus will be performing selections from Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols.” The fee for this fall season is $120, with scholarships available upon request. All are welcome to come try the chorus before signing up for the season.

For children who like to sing, the Jr. Mints will begin the fall session on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m., also at the Hancock Meetinghouse. All children between ages 6 and 16 are welcome to rehearse and join the Norway Pond Festival Singers for the Hancock Family Holiday Concert Dec. 21.

Parents are welcome to hold a space for their children and encourage them to try it out for a couple of rehearsals before making a commitment. Tuition is $120 for one child, $110 each for two siblings and $100 each for three or more siblings. Scholarships are available on request.
